If my Ol Lady knew I had a Stripper in my shop.............................:)
Nice Maple, it will refinish well
Rim Buffed and waxed, tone ring buffed
Nice snug fit, should ring really well
After removing all old coating over gold, then polish and wax.
I went with a Fskyn head, to give it a nice look and feel of skin,
and because it was a 1015 that fits nicely.
These pull to where I like a Vox to be, and sound great on decent
gauges and a wound G.
You know.....real strings .
I had no plain Remos in stock and the old one was broken.
These is also one tension bolt missing, see if you have one there
in your stock Dave (or Kurt)
Tailpiece has the classic late model Vox weakness, and is broke
in the joint
I can send it for repair, but since this is "Flip", heres
what we can do
Use this late model 5 string one, same cutouts, just a punch for
the 5th styring
Strong and gold
Or the prewar Ottinger, .......expensive .........225.00 /175.00
exchange
This one we can exchange for 100.00 and I can pay to get the old
one fixed and plated.
Or you can have me send this in to Caddick and you pay for the repair-
plating and -shipping, ..your call boys.
All I need is a tension bolt to be completed on this rim
Color and fade added, with first coat of sealer
I will darken the edge of the resonator a bit more before going
on with clear
3 coats of clear, I'll wetsand now and do 3 more
Next to Walnut Ludwig , it looks a tad darker than it really
is.
Neck buffed and waxed, frets polished, tuners oiled and fingerboard
oiled one more time before buffing .
Setup on GHS Plectrum Lites, with a Farquhar 1/2" inserted bridge
Neck angle adjusted to 5/32 action
next I will wetsand and buff the resonator
