Lance's BD 6
20053

WORKPAGE

Full restoration with plating

Initial Pics

This is a very nice banjo, and I am always awed when banjos of this level of expertise arrive in my humble shop.
It shows the greatest craftsmanship of that period and I am honored to be able to work on them each and every time..
This is the 2nd BD Lance has worked with me on and we just are completing with the setup on it..

Planets, with MOPs

Nice Lion's Head model, with Gabon Ebony neck

Last restoration was professional, so it will be easy to go forth again with it.

All gravings are still nice and crisp and with the new plating should really "pop"

This is the "KING" brand armrest, a rare breed.

Farquhar custom bridge, the way to go on BD's IMHO

Ivory is in good condition, usually the 1st two positions are really degraded, it is not a hard substance.

Ready to send plating off to Paul and Steve

Plating returns
Paul and Steve did a really nice job on this metalwork, the pics do it no justice.

Installed REMO 1100M2, to replace the incorrect high crown head that came on it.

Backplate buffed to mirror finish, flange and logo plate installed

Mute installed and functional

MOP buttons buffed, and Planets installed

FINAL PICS

Always a pleasure to work on one of the finest banjos ever produced.
Its also nervewracking many of the pieces you see are irreplacable, and if lost or damaged in any way, ........a most grevious day!
This one was a well cared for instrument when it arrived, making my job alot easier.
It is stunning to look at, and plays very well as it should.
Thanks for watching,
Vinnie
