"In the early 1990s, I had the opportunity to purchase a BK Otto amplified tenor guitar from a pawn shop in Paris, France.
Prior to that, I had sent a $1,000 cashier’s check directly to BK Otto to build a custom amplified tenor guitar for me. After waiting more than a year without delivery, he refunded the check and I located an existing BK Otto guitar through a French musician named Jean-Pierre Dubois, who had recently pawned the instrument.
Jean-Pierre was a highly accomplished banjo and guitar player and who performed with the Hot Antics, a well-known French traditional jazz band that appeared frequently at major trad jazz festivals in the United States during the 1980s and 1990s. "
