Vintage Banjo Accessory
Iucci "Bell Tone Ring"
Patent Applied For - 1917
Gennaro Iucci and his son Michael were instrument makers in New York during the early 20th century. Although their instruments are not widely known, they are very well respected by the vintage instrument cognoscenti.
Michael Iucci's invention, the "Bell Tone Ring" — an adjustable 9 inch “spider” which operates independently against the underside of the head is shown here.

And below, on my 1920s Stromberg

I am selling that one, and here are the pics of it out of the banjo.
They are a rare accessory and hard to find.
I have owned it many years and it has been on many banjos.
If you have a dowel stick banjo with a flat head, and want a brighter tone it will certainly make that happen.
