1920s Ludwig Dixie Tenor

Ok, this is just me, using up parts again.
And expounding on ideas that I have had over time.

This is a project to test the tonal change on a Ludwig Dixie after incorporating a wood rim into it.

Also, as with many Ludwig's this was one with the cast metal flange and "top tension" hoop that was degraded, so I used the older/heavier brass version flange with the better, more rounded bearing edge as well and making it into a "bottom tension" rim assembly.
The wooden rim I am using is a 1920's Weymann  Style 20 banjo mandolin rim, maple, 10-1/2"
It fits up into the Ludwig flange perfectly with no additional machine work needed.
As if it were made for it.
I will not plug the shoe holes, that is inconsequential to the outcome.
The neck, someone had cut off the extension for another project so I merely add a spacer made from a Hex shaped coordinator rod nut to brace it on the rim.
Since a Dixie has a "Drop in" pot assembly, I cut the resonator notch so that I could still slide in the pot while the neck was attached. The threads in the flange holes that were threaded for the top tension bolts, were drilled out to accept common flat 8/32 hooks, that are meant for a grooved tension hoop.
The reason you see upside-down "Bacon style" tension nuts on it, is because now the design requires  24 6mm long, 4mm I.D. metal tubes cut for the tension hook spacers.
The long nuts, upside-down give me the spacer, which is the unthreaded barrel, and the threads now at the bottom as the means to tighten up the head.
If it was not a prototype/project, I would have taken the time to make the spacers and use short nuts. The depth of the Dixie resonator allows for this design.
So the talk was long,  and the pics will be few, no need to show all of the neck mods to make it all work like I wanted.
Tone, VG, playability VG, Tuned GDAE
Would make someone a great beginner banjo, something to play on the beach and not worry damaging an expensive one.
It will be sold at a very reasonable price.
