1920's Van Eps Recording Tenor
Named after Fred Van Eps, a famous banjo artist in the early 1900s They were designed in this manner so that they could be heard in the recording devices of the day, which were primitive by todays standards. They have a very bright tone. This is a 17 fret tenor. The calfskin head is designed this way, you can Google them online and get more history. Just a neat little banjo, not an everyday find. New frets and finish. OHSC in fair condition.
